Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography

Program Overview

Diagnostic radiography is an allied health profession which uses cutting edge technology to produce diagnostic images in a clinical setting. After completing this programme, graduates are eligible to register with the HCPC and practise as a Diagnostic Radiographer.

You’ll learn to use a range of imaging techniques to assess injuries and illnesses. We’ll help you develop the skills and adaptability you need to deliver high quality patient-centred care in a range of settings. You’ll also learn about communication and working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

You’ll study the core subjects of anatomy, physiology, pathology, physics and clinical imaging to enable you to apply them to clinical situations. You’ll be able to put theory into practice in our new radiography suite which simulates real clinical setting.

We use a blended learning approach with time divided between university teaching and clinical practice. Around 50% of the course is spent in clinical placement settings under the supervision of experienced diagnostic radiography mentors who support you.
