Program Overview

The Celts are Indo European Ethnic groups identified by their use of Celtic language and cultural similarities. CBU offers a very interesting degree called Bachelor of Arts Community Studies majoring in Celtic Culture. This program focuses on the Celtic people, their origin, language, culture, ethnicity, the folklore, literature and art. The BACS course also analyses the age old Celtic culture with a contemporary, modern day outlook. 

The degree complements a number of different majors such as history, political science, English, anthropology, and art history, and can make graduates more marketable for international careers and graduate programs. The course analyses the influence of Celtic people on the cultural heritage of Cape Breton and the people. This 36 month program also gives students an opportunity to go for exchange programs to Ireland, Scotland, Wales and other Celtic countries. The students also have the option of going for a co-operative educational program where they can work while studying and gain fruitful experience.
