Graduate Certificate in Project Management

Program Overview

Project Management is a one-year Ontario College Graduate Certificate program, completed in two four-month levels (laptop required). Students will gain the in-depth knowledge, competencies, skills, tools, and techniques required to plan and execute major projects that achieve organizational goals on time and on budget. The Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Body of Knowledge is an integral part of the program curriculum. The curriculum also addresses emerging trends in project management through courses in Agile Project Management, Project Recovery and Project Leadership. Upon completion of the first level of the program, students will be eligible for the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification, an entry-level designation offered by the Project Management Institute (PMI). Graduates will be prepared to pursue PMI's Project Management Professional (PMP) designation after completing the prescribed period of professional project management experience.

  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of a project management computer software specific to the practices of project management.
  • Identify the principles and models used for managing the project financials for resources, materials and the project schedule.
  • Recognize organizational culture and adaptive techniques as they apply to your project and project team.
  • Organize the project team through identification of the required roles and responsibilities to deliver project requirements.
  • Apply appropriate legal and ethical standards.
