AEC - IT Programmer Analyst

Program Overview

This training program aims to train people capable of practicing the profession of computer programmer-analyst. These people develop applications in diverse environments: Web, databases, mobile devices, by mastering both the techniques related to structured programming and those related to object-oriented programming. The programmer-analyst must meet the needs of businesses with various activities. The tasks can relate to any stage of the development cycle of an application, namely analysis and design, construction and testing as well as implementation and integration into the environment targeted IT. In addition, it maintains existing software by making functional improvements. It also plays the role of resource person for users. In Quebec, in recent years, new approaches to IT have become more and more present, increasing the possibilities of careers. The most important are:

  • Mobile technologies, which have radically changed the use of cell phones by opening them up to video games, online sales and website browsing. With the appearance of electronic tablets, the popularity of mobile technologies has increased further, with some going as far as to question the use of the traditional microcomputer for personal purposes.
  • Cloud Computing, which provides access to IT resources that are stored on the Internet rather than on a local computer. This avenue is particularly promising for businesses, because it frees the pressure on local servers, while increasing resistance to failures by ensuring data backup in several places in the event of a failure. This is undoubtedly the current trend in the industry.
